This week, I’m featuring a whole new different kind of tag called The Villain Squad Tag. Thanks to this lovely fellow Grey’s Anatomy and Game of Thrones fan, Dee @ Bookish Khaleesi, for tagging me. Basically, the mechanics involve answering a series of villain-ish questions. I’m adding a new rule: SKY’S THE LIMIT! Books, movies, TV show, teachers, government officials, etc. Choose whatever!
Think of your own villain identity and power!
The power to absorb all powers? It’s pretty egotistical but hey, that’s what villains are!
The Leader – Pick a villain to lead the squad.
Who says girls can’t be bad?! I love how Veronica Roth upheld feminine strength by creating female antagonists. Jeanine Matthews from the Divergent trilogy is definitely this person. What with her effective way of staring down people and manipulating them with her extremely persuasive words, a woman from Erudite should lead the squad.
The Killer Smile – Pick a villain who’s just extremely attractive
Ugh tough question! Movie and TV show marathons are my religion and thus, I have an extremely long list. To answer this, I’d have to go for Harry Osborn aka The New Goblin from Spiderman Series which was played by James Franco. He wears this slick, red-hot smile that totally sent Tobey Maguire off the road.
The Loose Canon – Pick a villain that marches to the beat of their own drum
This is basically every antagonist. Every villain is egotistic, at least at the peak of their vile career. One of the best candidates is President Snow from The Hunger Games. He didn’t bat an eye about the overworked and famished conditions of the districts as long as they suffice his and the Capitol’s selfish eccentricities.Sounds familiar? Don’t think hard. This setting is regrettably very much like the reality we’re living.
The Unhinged One – Pick a villain that isn’t playing with a full deck.
So here’s a smart ass who thinks himself so high and mighty when in fact he’s the total opposite: Joffrey Baratheon from Game of Thrones. Thinking before acting is an unfamiliar ground for this guy making everybody his adversaries. Either I’m reading too much PJ series or Joffrey is just literally a seaweed brain. Well, what do you expect from a product of an incestuous relationship, right?
The Redeemer – Pick a villain that’s on a path of redemption/would play both sides
This species is slowly in the progress of extinction I can think of only a few. I’m not sure if you guys are in agreement with me but Valentine Morgenstern fits this entry. He has a wicked mind plotting to purify the Shadow World but the way he yearns to unify his family, I’m not sure which side he’s on. That family-oriented moving suite he has though.
The Evil One – Pick a Villain That’s Just Bad to the Bone
Joffrey Baratheon is the most suitable answer for this but since he already took a spot on this book tag and I don’t want him to delight in showered attentions, I’ll go for Richie from Eleanor and Park. Seriously, how can Eleanor’s mom stand such a scoundrel who wallows in furnishing everyone with emotional hell?! If you haven’t read it yet and you’re that rare person seeking to raise his/her blood pressure, this book is for you.
The Once-Was-Good – Pick a villain that didn’t originally start out as a villain.
This has to be Shane Walsh from The Walking Dead. Whatever emotional investment I had for this character – being the guy who has to suffer from an unrequited love with Lori – got flushed down the drain by the second season as he … *zips mouth before blurting out any spoilers* That shaved head clearly held all the difference!
To flood you with you with yet another tag, here’s who I nominate:
Charley @ Books and Bakes
Cristina @ My Tiny Obsessions
CW Reads @ Read, Think, Ponder
E. Rawls @ Rawls E. Fantasy
Erika @ Bookventure Land

Aww poor Shane. I’m still on the early episodes of Walking Dead so I sympathize with him. He tries to do good.
Thanks for tagging me.

OH MY GOSH DID I SPOIL YOU WITH THIS?! I feel bad and I’m sorry 😦 He was initially one of my favorite characters 🙂

Haha! Don’t feel bad. I usually intentionally spoil myself anyways. And I expected that he might become bad.

Whew! I thought I just ruined a show for you. Judging from how he looked at Lori, he has potentials to be 🙂

This is quite an appropriate tag to do for October. And it looks like fun. Thanks so much for the tag! I have to confess that I don’t focus on the villains of the story most of the time so I often forget their names (well except for the Darkling and Voldemort because they impacted my reading experiences so much, haha)… but I’m sure with a quick check I’ll be able to the tag. (And I love your new profile photo, Trisha!)

LOL you’re right! I’m guessing a halloween book tag of some sort will come out in the coming weeks.
Actually me too. I have to google some of their names so I can come up with a proper set haha! I’ve been hearing a lot about the Darkling and now I’m so excited to read Grisha!
Aww thanks Summer! Hope pharmacy school isn’t giving you so much stress! 😀

School has been tough, but I’m managing. 🙂 And haha, there has to be a Halloween tag! It’s such a popular holiday, at least over here. AND YES. You must fictionally meet the Darkling someday. He’s a character to be reckon with! 😉

I already know that Joffrey will be used as one of my answers for this tag. The guy is just despicable. Thank you for the tag Trisha Ann! 😀

Haha I predicted you would say that being a fellow Joffrey hater. I still won’t get over on the manner of his death. You’re welcome, Erika! 🙂

Yes tell me about it. I wished he had a torturous death not the instant one. I know this makes me seem sadistic (oh the irony since Joffrey is like that) but he deserve a long, painful demise after all he has done!
LikeLike
I was actually not convinced he died just like that bc you know, bad guys have several lives haha. And no, you’re not being sadistic, Erika, but rather being fair. lol.

…I don’t even remember anyone besides Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in the original Spider-Man (I guess it’s also because I really did prefer Garfield and Stone in the recent films.) But thank you the tag!

Me too! Except for James Franco playing Harry Osborn from the original, The Amazing Spiderman is superior in all other aspects. Andrew Garfield is a better Peter Parker. And you’re welcome, Joey! 😀

Hahaha. This tag is so hilarious! I love villains and I would love to work with them for a day. Sounds insane! Thanks for tagging me, Trisha. I loved that you included movie characters. Can I insert Binay here?

Thanks! Is it? I’m tagging you too, Josie! 🙂 You can add The Darkling on your list when we get to Grisha Trilogy. I heard that one’s badass!

Aw thank you! I don’t think I’ll be able to do this tag but ill write it down. I just bought Shadow and Bone so I’m on my way to discovering the Darkling! 😄

This is a fun one! Ohhh James Franco totally wins that smile! He was my favorite thing about those spiderman movies. 🙂 I still need to watch WD! I like the ones you picked–or should I say I don’t like them? Haha, they are villains after all. 😛 😀

Thanks E. Rawls! Yeah, I like James Franco as Harry Osborn better than the one from the Amazing Spiderman. You should watch The Walking though you might need a little effort to catch up since the rhere’s already a total of 5 seasons. But I do hope you’ll like it 😀

5 seasons, waaah, that’s going to take me a long time!

Thank you for the tag, Trisha Ann! Oh gosh, I LOVE THAT YOU MENTIONED SHANE! I thought he was such a great antagonist – like, not bad, but not good either. A bit of both, perhaps misguided. My friends and I debated about him, which was so cool too.
And hahaha oh my goodness, Joffrey! Yesss. He was soooo annoying. (His death was pretty brutal though.)
LikeLike
Yeah! You’re right he’s a bit of both so I had hopes for him then. I was actually expecting Shane to last, if not until the series ends, at least longer. OMG Joffrey deserves his death (and maybe even more LOL). I’m excited for the next GOT season. And you’re welcome, CW 😀
