Happy Septemburrrr everyone! Yes, it’s getting a little chilly now from where I hail. Ahh, it’s that time of the year again when Christmas countdowns begin.
Last week, Erika at Erika in Bookventureland tagged me to do the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag. Somebody else tagged (Sorry I forgot! I’m pretty dumb at keeping track on my book tags) me this too last month but I was kinda hesitant to do it since it’s way past the mid year. But yeah, change of plans.
So thank you Erika for tagging me the Midyear 3rd Quarter Book Freak Out Tag!
Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2015
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
I’ve been very blatant to my extreme love for this book on this blog because I REALLY DO. The hype on Me Before You is insane and it’s justified. Will Traynor, why did you do this to me???
Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2015
PS I Still Love You by Jenny Han
This book transported me to a huge land of unicorns and cloud nine. It was wait-worthy! Lara Jean and Peter K have the most cliche couple fights and damn, it’s annoyingly delightful and delightfully annoying!
New Release you Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To
Firefight by Brandon Sanderson
First, I haven’t read Steelheart yet (but I’m getting there… soon!). Second, this book has a distinct kind of dystopian theme, sort of like Attack on Titan. Third, it’s ALWAYS ALWAYS OUT OF STOCK.
Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
I read a couple of reviews saying this book is so good. Plus, I wonder why the lead doesn’t come out of her house and how she reacted when she saw there are other beings aside from those living in her nest.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
The synopsis looks promising. This sort of reminds of The Selection series by Kierra Cass. I love powerful female characters but ones completely unique from Katniss or Tris. I hope this book has that.
Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year
After You by Jojo Moyes
Jojo Moyes came to realize she had to let her readers know what happened after Me Before You. Thank goodness she did! It’s set for release by the end of September. Can’t wait so… (I’m going to crack a joke but why am I explaining?!)… WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS.
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
If you read Fangirl, you might want to read Carry On. I’m not that excited though because when I was reading Fangirl, I was kinda not engrossed about Simon Snow I even skimmed over it. Well, I’m curious so I hope it’s a good story!
Biggest Disappointment
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Ugh, totally a waste of time, trees, and emotions! I only got to the end because I have the sequel waiting. There’s this one scene when these musically-inclined juvenile couple wanted to be playful and flirty they’re touching each other, I quote, like a cello! *cringes and vomits*
Favorite New Author
Gillian Flynn.
That girl’s mind is a total asskicker! Have you read/watch Gone Girl or Dark Places? You should. They say Sharp Objects is even better but I’ll get to that soon. Gillian Flynn blows thrill on her books as easy as breathing.
Newest Fictional Crush
Rob Stark
I haven’t finished the first book yet but I got through all the seasons of the series. The King in the North spells sexy in every inch of his system. Oh Talisa, I would love to strangle your hair! I should have been by Rob’s side, not you!
Book That Made You Cry
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.
Again, I’m putting this book on a pedestal. I literally bawled out on this book. NO SHAME. The book warrants every single teardrop I shed. If you guys don’t know yet, there’s gonna be a film adaptation starring Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke. Yup, Game of Thrones and Hunger Games unite!
Favorite Book to Film Adaptation You Saw This Year
Fifty Shades of Grey
Before you shoot me with those repugnant stares, allow me to explain. I didn’t read the book and I don’t intend to after the movie. There’s no way I would taint a good memory with a bad one. I absolutely think the casting and their acting was good. Jamie Dornan being Christian Grey is on point. The sound track set the mood in everything. “Love me like you do! La-la-la-love me like you do…” That was ringing on my head every freaking time!
Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought So Far This Year
The Truth About Forever (and other Sarah Dessen Books)
I only got introduced to Sarah Dessen by some bloggers I met here. I bought the books and so far, I’m having no regret. Wouldn’t you fall in love with these lovely covers??
What Books Do You Need To Read Before The End of The Year?
A LOT. A LOT. A LOT.
1. Throne of Glass series. The hype is there for a reason.
2. Chaos Walking series. People talk about Patrick Ness like a god.
3. Mara Dyer series. The cover’s hauntingly good.
4. Reckoner series. Sorta like my fave, Attack on Titan.. correct me if I’m wrong.
5. And all the other books I have for my Popsugar Reading Challenge.

It makes me so happy that you bought Sarah Dessen’s books! You must start with The Truth About Forever because it’s my ultimate favorite Dessen work. 😉
And I’m so super excited for the film version of Me Before You. While I haven’t read the book yet (it’s sitting on my shelf) I can’t wait for it. And Emilia Clarke and Sam Claiflin! I’m sold. HAHA
Oh and Rob Stark!Gaah I hate GRR Martin for killing him! 😦

Yeah! I read The Truth About Forever first bc I see it in most of your T10T posts and Summer @ Xingsings often mention it. I’m afflicted by the Wes fever after lol
Ahh I’m hyping up Me Before You too much I hope your expectations are met 🙂
Yeah, even with spoilers everywherr, Rob Stark’s death came as a surprise to me 😦

Thans for tagging me Trisha! Same here. Not a fan of Gayle Forman. I’ve read three of her books but I didn’t enjoy it as much as i thought i would (not to mention all the hype). Anyway, I need to read Me Before You before I watch the movie! 🙂

You’re welcome! I only got to the end thinking the plot would somehow be dynamic. Initially, I wanted to read her I Was Here series but now it’s officially a NO lol. Hope I didn’t ruin Me Before You by hyping it up so much 🙂

How does one even link The Reckoners Trilogy to Attack on Titan… LOL.

Lol I knew it had to be a ridiculous guess. Steelheart’s synopsis is my sole basis. Have you read it? 🙂

Thanks for tagging me Trish Ann!
HAHAHA I loved your comment about If I Stay. I read that and found it a bit odd too – like trying a little too hard to be quirky and romantic? But I’m just thinking, erm… XD
Tbh don’t expect tooo much from Red Queen! I really enjoyed it at an entertainment level, but as a dystopian… it is not really that good of a dystopian. D’:

Exactly! For me it’s like John Green. The hype is insane but in reality, it’s meh (I’m sorry if you’re a fan!).
Ooh I’ll take note of that! Looks like a lot of dystopian nowadays are about royalty.
And you’re welcome 🙂

Hey!! Thanks for tagging me! 😀 I didn’t actually mind If I stay… It wasn’t necessarily horrible 😉 AND I’m excited for Carry On as well!!! Fingers Crossed it’s amazing! 🙂

You’re welcome 🙂 Ahhh mine’s an unpopular opinion lol. I liked Where She Went though 🙂 Oh yes! I skipped Simon Snow excerpts from Fangirl but I do believe it will be better in Carry On 🙂

Ah, I am still so happy that you’re liking Sarah Dessen so far! Me Before You is still a book I need to read. You and Cassandra (Read All About It) are always gushing about how emotional and great it is, so I can’t wait to be able to join in the discussion (even though by then it’ll be so belated…). And gah, Everything, Everything was so enjoyable! I hope you get to that one. And thanks for the tag, Trisha! ^.^

Yes! The covers of Dessen books are gorgeous though the old ones look better.
Haha me and Cassandra crazy about it Me Before You. I’m starting to worry we’re building your expectations too high on this book. But I suppose it’s worth it 🙂
Everything Everything’s synopsis is so intriguing! I’m glad you liked it. I’m more excited to get to it.
And you’re welcome, Summer! 🙂
